In this class we’ll made one full calf binding.  This will involve sewing a single flexible textblock, rounding and backing, ploughing in boards, sewing reverse bead endbands, paring leather using a spokeshave, dyeing the leather, covering and blind tooling.

The students should have be familiar with rounding and backing, sewing endbands, using a spokeshave and paring knife, and have worked with leather.  The ideal preparation for this class would be the cloth binding class and the half leather class.
