Limp Vellum Class

In this two day class we’ll make a limp vellum binding.  If time permits we’ll also make a paper case binding.  This is one of the most beautiful and satisfying bindings to make.  Some binding experience is helpful, but not necessary.

This binding is sewn on alum tawed thongs with a herringbone sewing pattern, with alum tawed and bone ties.  It has a yapp foredge.

The cost is $250, which includes the vellum necessary for one binding.  More vellum will be available for purchase, or you can bring your own.

On the first day we will make the text block, which will be sewn on alum towed thongs.  The second Saturday will have us making the cover first with ten point board, then with vellum.

All tools provided.

To sign up for this class please email me at mark@pantherpeakbindery.com and let me know which session you are going to attend.

Class will start at 9 am on both days. I expect the first Saturday will go until about 5.
